Delhi Nursery Schools Admission Notice For Parents Of Twins

Several parents of twins have been left confused as some schools are allotting points to first born children, leaving them unsure which one of the twins will be allotted the points. Also, parents of twins will not be able to avail of points such as sibling criteria, girl child, single parent, etc. the only criteria where they will be able to avail the points would be the neighborhood.

A mother of twin sons said that a school that she had applied to asked for documents proving that her sons were twins. The schools issued her an application form only after she had provided the proof.

Mansi Saraswat, a mother of twins said, "My children are inseparable and I can't even think of getting them admitted in separate schools. If one of them qualifies for a schools and the other does not, I will have no choice but to request the school management."

Principals of schools have said that the points system is confusing not only for the parents but for schools as well. Ameeta Wattal, principal of Springdales School said, "It was easier for us to consider such cases earlier when the parents had been allowed to interact with the schools authorities. Now, after the points system has been implemented, the situation is quite tricky."

Principal of Laxman Public School Usha Ram said that they had considered the dilemma that parents of twins would have to go through and have hence decided to allocate the points for "first-born" criteria to both children.
