Common MBBS And PG Entrance Exam

From now The MBBS and PG courses will be running concurrently, Exams will be held as a common basis.
MBBS and PG courses in medical colleges will not have to appear for numerous tests. The Union From now on those aspiring to get admission into MBBS and PG courses in medical colleges will not have to appear for numerous tests. from next year onwards. The move is expected to replace over 17 pre-medical tests (PMTs) conducted across the country. Admission tests are conducted annually for nearly 32,000 undergraduate and 13,000 postgraduate seats in medical colleges across the country.
S K Sarin, the head of Board of Governors of Medical Council of India (MCI), on Tuesday said the Health Ministry has cleared the MCI’s proposal for a common entrance test for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
According to ministry officials, the idea is to bring in uniformity. As of now, every state has its own rules. For instance, students in Gujarat are enrolled on the basis of the marks obtained in the senior secondary examination.
“A lot of wrong doing has come to our notice. The new system will, therefore, bring in uniformity and common standard for all,” said a senior official in the ministry.
